You bring inspiration to other people’s lives; where do you seek your inspiration?
I find inspiration everywhere; being in New York can be overwhelming and stimulating with inspiration. Color, the change in seasons, artwork, my friends, designers. I can leave a party and come into work with inspiration the next day, or find inspiration from a menu or dinner party, a smell, or a color. I’m constantly inspired.
Do you have advice to offer aspiring business owners?
Be sure to realize and understand how much time and dedication it takes to create your own business. It’s like a baby! It can be so overwhelming, but you need to be able to just roll with the demands. You also need to have an understanding of which aspects need serious attention and what parts you can relax about. Some elements of running your own business require hard work, and other things can be left up to fate.
What’s your most memorable client experience?
It’s so hard to pick just one — there have been so many! I’d have to say that recently, it would be an event we did for Coach for the launch of their new fragrance, Poppy. I did a “how-to” all-day event with different groups of editors. I’m confident in what I do, but I’ve never had to teach other people! It was an amazing experience altogether, from the incredible work my team did getting everything together, to the great business connections I was able to make.
How do you add sparkle to your life?
I add sparkle to my life by making the quality time for things that make me feel good, whether that be making time to invite friends over for dinner, getting a facial, or taking a yoga class. I add sparkle by finding time to do things that genuinely make me happy in what could be a busy and stressful day!
