JEWELMINT

We got the inside scoop from jewelry designer and stylist, Cher Coulter, on her collaboration with Kate Bosworth: JewelMint. Longtime friends joined forces to create a high-fashion-inspired jewelry line — specifically designed and personalized for each customer’s style. Not only are their pieces on-trend, but the price point also just can’t be beat.

How did you come up with the idea to create an affordable and personalized jewelry line?
The idea behind JewelMint revolves around the understanding that people want the strongest trend happening on the runway, but can’t afford it. We provide jewelry designed with a high-fashion element in mind for girls who love accessorizing daily. This gives them the opportunity to wear what’s currently trending in the runway shows without spending a fortune. Kate and I are constantly designing as soon as the runway shows hit, translating the clothes into jewelry. When designing we keep in mind that every woman has their own individual style. Whether she is an edgier girl or has a classic bohemian vibe, our designs accommodate all types. That is the beauty of having a personalized shopping experience; we send the pieces specifically designed for your style.

When did you decide to collaborate and where did the name JewelMint come from?
Kate and I have been best friends for nearly 10 years now and have always known that we wanted to do something together, which made this collaboration very natural. Originally, Kate was approached to curate jewelry, but we loved the concept so much that we decided if our names were going to be on this project, we needed to design every piece in the collection. There are plenty of places offering on-trend clothing designs at a low price point, but we had never found jewelry on the same level of design. This drove us to create those pieces while staying at an affordable price point.

Do you have any style tips to share with us when it comes to accessorizing an ensemble?
Adding unique jewelry to an outfit can compliment all of your different types of moods. It’s always great to have a good variety of pieces in your jewelry box, whether you need to vamp up a little black dress or accessorize a casual outfit. Also, it is important to accessorize appropriately depending on the occasion. When wearing a gorgeous gown, you want your jewelry to add to your look rather than overpower it. If your outfit is more minimal and classic, pair it with a statement piece to spruce up your outfit.

Have you both always loved fashion and jewelry in particular?
Yes, I studied fashion at Central Saint Martins and had my own clothing line for eight years. As for my love of jewelry, it grew over time. Some may not notice the importance jewelry has on fashion (and vice-versa), but they both strongly impact one another.

We love that JewelMint teamed with Rachel Bilson to give back to the charity Invisible Children. Do you have other celebrity collaborations lined up that we can look forward to?
Yes we do! Kate and I asked several of our friends in the business to curate select pieces for us, and we are overjoyed at the responses! I can’t leak out too many names, but keep your eyes peeled. It’s wonderful getting to talk with our friends about the charities they chose — so inspiring!

What JewelMint pieces are you most excited about for summer?
This summer, I’m particularly excited about the fun hippie pieces and their strong bohemian feel. My absolute favorite is the Tulum Bracelet set. I love pairing them with chunky silver bracelets for a unique contrast. Also, I am totally psyched for this shield necklace that’s coming out in July! I found this great piece that inspired the necklace in Hitchin in England. Summer is a fun time to pile on the jewelry.
