Not Your Average Book Club

The best book clubs are the ones that aren’t so, well, by the book! So you’ve found an awesome group of gals who steer clear of Jane Eyre? Perfecto. Now it’s time to add some serious sparkle. Caitlin recently hosted Taylor, Erin, Meg, and Natalie at her San Francisco apartment for a book bash in true Glitter Girl style. There’s nothing like stimulating conversation paired with Blood Orange Bellinis, Margaret Elizabeth baubles, and pastel cake pops!

Here are the recipes and DIYs to ensure a soiree filled with chit chat, cocktails, and — of course — a healthy helping of shimmer.

Blood Orange Bellini
Ingredients:
1 (750 ml) bottle Prosecco
1 quart blood orange juice

Directions:
Chill the Prosecco on ice for about 30 minutes. Once chilled, open the Prosecco and let it stand at room temperature for a few minutes. Rub the rims of the glasses with the inside of an orange, and then dip the rims in edible glitter. Pour approximately 2 ounces of blood orange juice into each flute. Fill to within 1/2-inch of the top of the glass with Prosecco and serve.

 

 

 

The DIY Garland
Supplies:
Scissors
Tissue paper in multiple colors
Thin ribbon
Tape

Step 1: Pick out the colors of tissue paper you wish to use {we used gold, pink, teal, peach, and silver}.
Step 2: Take tissue paper from package and leave folded. Cut different width strips perpendicular to the folds. Continue with all the colors of tissue paper.
Step 3: Unroll the ribbon and lay it on the floor. Then fold the tissue strips in half and lay them on the ribbon hanging down from the ribbon.
Step 4: Tape the tissue strips to ribbon to secure. Now party it up!
