Meet Helena: the friendly voice behind Brooklyn Blonde. While capturing the unique energy of the borough she calls home, this Glitter Girl archives an impressive array of eclectic ensembles. Her signature tresses are never without a smile (or a hearty dose of accessories!). Whether she’s mixing playful prints or brilliantly balancing lengths and layers, Helena conquers the New York City skyline — in stilettos!

Have you always had a spot in your heart for fashion?
Without a doubt. My friends always tease me that I was born carrying a handbag or wearing a pair of high heels! I remember being a very young girl who was extremely eager to start working, just so I could start buying my own clothes and makeup.
Describe your style. Has it evolved since you began your blog?
Feminine chic, with a NYC edge thrown in. My style has definitely evolved since I started my blog, and I’d like to think it continues to evolve on a daily basis. I’ve learned (and am still learning) so much from blogging and taking and editing so many photos. I get to see the good and the bad, what really works for my body type, my skin coloring and most importantly, what feels true to who I am.

My favorite thing about living in Brooklyn is:
The character it has. Brooklyn is diverse in so many ways — from the people living here, to the way people dress, to the music they listen to. There’s always so much to take in and I love that.
What things or places endlessly inspire you?
New York is truly a constant source of inspiration for me. I always say that I can walk the streets of NYC for 10 hours straight, just people-watching. From the fancy ladies on the Upper East Side, to the downtown style of the East Village, I get inspired from it all.
Some of her current favorite pieces: Forever21, J Crew, Rachel Leigh & Marc by Marc Jacobs, and a bracelet from eBay.
“I definitely splurge on handbags and I try to invest in pieces that I’ll wear for years to come. I love them all, but Balenciaga bags are my ultimate weakness.”
