Glitter Girl: Alicia Of Cheetah Is The New Black

Our very own Glitter Guide Editor Alicia also authors Cheetah is the New Black — a tribute to her undying love for animal print! This fresh-faced beauty is known throughout the blogging community for mixing vintage with high-end and silk with distressed denim (all while cleverly infusing her sassy signature print). Her sartorial intuition and fondness for all things sparkly make her the ultimate Glitter Girl!

Current/Elliot jeans, Alice + Olivia jacket, and Zara pumps.

Why did you decide to start a fashion / lifestyle blog? What do you love most about blogging?
I wanted a creative outlet, and my then boyfriend (now husband!) suggested I start a blog. At the time I didn’t really know what I would write about, but for the past two years it’s been such a fun and inspiring outlet for me. I’ve really enjoyed getting into photography, but I’d have to say that my favorite things about blogging are the people I’ve met and the support I’ve gotten from my readers.

Alice + Olivia dress, Zara pumps, and vintage earrings.

Describe your personal style. What is an ideal outfit?
My personal style is a mix of girlie meets edgy tomboy. My ideal outfit is boyfriend jeans, a silk blouse, fun pumps, and bold jewelry.

Did you always have a spot in your heart for cheetah print? Why is it your go-to element?
I’ve always loved animal prints, but my love for cheetah and leopard print grew in college. These prints can definitely go “wrong,” but when styled correctly, they make such a fun, bold accent or statement. I think this print shows off my personality best. I’m a pretty outgoing and bubbly person, which is exactly what cheetah print is to me.

What three things should every Glitter Girl have in her wardrobe?
A go-to pair of jeans that are simultaneously flattering and comfortable. A glittery necklace or pair of earrings that when worn you instantly feel glamorous! And a brightly-colored or leopard-print pair of pumps.
