Tea & Tips: A Girlie Manicure Party

This past Saturday afternoon, Tara (author of The Wonder Girl) hosted a girlie tea party complete with cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches and a glitter manicure tutorial for her girlfriends. Fingers sans polish, guests were encouraged to don appropriate tea party attire (sparkly bling mandatory!). Both a mix of vintage china and a modern tea set by Rosanna were used to serve butter cookies, sandwiches, and Earl Grey tea. Décor included scattered bottles of nail polish and fresh flowers (lavender & dahlias) in vintage vases. In between sips of tea, the ladies followed Tara’s step-by-step nail instructions, and all left with ombred glitter manicures in various colors!

Tara dipped store-bought cookies in homemade icing (dyed purple with food coloring) and sprinkled with multicolored sugar crystals for a semi-homemade yet simple desert.

Upon the guests’ departure, this hostess gave each girl a party favor that included Butter nail polish and cookies to-go. Tea leaves and sparkle confetti were thrown into the personalized bags for a festive touch.

Hi ladies! So glad you liked the feature! We had so much fun!

For the goodie bags, I purchased clear cellophane bags and filled the bottom 1/4″ with loose tea leaves (you can purchase in bulk at a grocery store) and a little bit of confetti glitter. then I stuffed the bags with a Butter London nail polish and several cookies along with a pretty tea bag. I then tied the bags with ribbon (different kinds for a fun mismatch) and attached the name tags. To make the name tags I purchased blank manila tagboard tags at paper source (www.paper-source.com) and i stamped the “keep calm and carry on” stamp in lavendar ink (also purchased at paper source – it’s on their website) and dabbed a little bit of purple glitter glue. I then used individual glitter letter stickers to personalize each tag for each girl. I looped narrow gold ribbon around the hole in the tag to attach it to the gift bag.

this is such a cute little party. Me and my friend Ashley just won a whole bunch of free party gifts from Vera Bradley like cups and napkins, so now we want to have our own little party too! hehe;) Love all the nails and especially love the nailpolishes in the glass! So cute…
