Catherine, the delightful owner of adorable boutique, Hallelu, gave us a tour of her chic seaside pad. Earth tones and distressed woodwork generate a relaxed, outdoorsy vibe effortlessly reminiscent of the seashore. Creamy white walls and mismatched accessories further contribute to an unmistakable surf shop aesthetic. Modernized with sleek touches and funky accents (think: chevron pillows, paper lanterns, and pink stairs), Catherine’s beachy abode has a charming character all its own!

Catherine spends time on her patio in a Zara skirt, thrifted shirt, Hallelu necklace, and Steve Madden shoes.

What inspired you to open your own boutique?
I come from a long line of entrepreneurs. My great grandmother opened a hotel all on her own, my grandfather started a laundry business at 14, my dad started a furniture business and so on. So I guess you could say it is in my blood. But I discovered my love of fashion after working as a buyer in San Diego. It was the first time I loved my job so much that I couldn’t wait to go to work everyday!

How would you describe your personal style?
Fun, girly, colorful, laid back. I definitely don’t take myself too seriously so my style changes daily. I get dressed based on my mood. Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t.

Do your home and personal style closely resemble each other?
Yes. Some people call me Pinky, so I think the pink stairs say it all.  My husband is a surfboard shaper so there is a fun mix of surfing and fashion throughout. But my style is definitely more vintage while his is more modern so we have had to get creative with mixing our styles.

Thrifted pink chair & pillow, Urban Outfitters pink antlers, Zara dress, Hallelu necklace.

Thirfted leopard pin, The “C” cup was a gift from one of her favorite employees, Anthropologie ring holder,  thrifted tray.

I love this article! Thank you so much for featuring Hallelu. I spent my summers in Wrightsville Beach, NC, where my family had an old beach house on Lumina Ave (I took my first steps there). It’s so near and dear to my heart! Catherine seems so sweet and approachable, and I love her funky, vintage, girly sense of style! Their house is darling, and I can’t wait to visit Hallelu boutique the next time I’m in town. I share her entrepreneurial spirit and love of fashion – owning a small business myself here in Nashville, TN. Love the Glitter Guide! ~ Annie Heyward, Nashville – http://www.achiccritique.com

Love this! Hallelu was my favorite shop when I lived in Wrightsville Beach. I miss it so much (the beach, too!) Thanks for this sneak peek into Catherine’s adorable home. Now, if I could just get MY husband on board with pink stairs, we’ll be in business.

One of my favorite features! Catherine and her home are both so chic. I have some family in NC and will definitely make it my business to visit and shop Hallelu. Knew this feature would be awesome – their video on Sterling Style was just as charming.

Anyone have more info on the light fixture?  I haven’t had any luck finding it.  Even just the brand name would be helpful!!
