Hi Glitter Girls! Hitha here, from Hitha On The Go. I spend the better part of my time traveling (for both work and pleasure), so I am thrilled to share with you my tips and tricks for staying stylish, beautiful, and entertained on your next trip!
Travel Stylish:
A travel outfit must be comfortable, but should also reflect your personal style. Ditch the sweatpants and hoodies, reaching instead for pieces that comfort and flatter. Slim pants or leggings, slouchy tees, and boyfriend blazers–while just as cozy–are infinitely more tailored! A classic sheath will also take you from the plane to the office. Finish your look with chic flats, a leather carry-all, and a smile (well-dressed passengers are more likely to get upgrades!). Sport low/nonmetal jewels and chic, slip-on shoes so you can breeze through security smoothly.

Travel Beautiful:
It’s no secret that flying dehydrates your skin and wrecks havoc on your circulation. Every Glitter Girl should take a few extra steps to put her best face forward. As unstylish as they may be, compression socks help to maintain circulation and prevent swollen ankles. Clean your face with cleansing towelettes, and apply moisturizer and eye cream once you’ve settled into your seat. Spritz on rosewater every 30 minutes, and reapply moisturizer and eye cream every hour to maintain hydration. I keep all of my beauty items–along with a luxe eye mask, lip balm, and a pen–in a zippered pouch that sits in my seat-front pocket.

Travel Entertained:
A perk of long flights is the chance to catch up on reading–novels, non-fiction, magazines (I don’t discriminate!). My iPad conveniently holds the majority of my reading materials via the Kindle app and individual magazine apps (I love Glamour, Elle, and The Economist). I save chill music on Spotify for offline listening, and download missed episodes of my favorite shows from iTunes (few things are better than a Mad Men marathon). I also pack an empty Bobble in my carry-on, filling it at the nearest bathroom or water fountain after I’ve passed through security. (The mouthpiece even filters the water!) A baggie of almonds and a few Lara bars saves cash and prevents unhealthy snacking.
