So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley is her own stylist, and while she loves fashion she tries not to take it too seriously. Cat’s carefree attitude and super funny personality are what make her so charming and her style so unique. We were lucky to chat with this Glitter Girl and break down a few of her style secrets.

Do you think your personal style is reflected in the wardrobe you wear on TV, and do you have any input on your outfits?
I style myself on SYTYCD. I’ve always loved fashion! I find it fun, creative and inspiring to develop different looks every week. I enjoy the process, and I like to challenge the audience to have an opinion about each outfit. Love it, or loathe it! I want people to have an opinion!

You started your career off as a model, how has that experience influenced your personal style and view of fashion?
I think too often women take fashion too seriously. Clothes should be an extension of who you are and reflect the task at hand. But above all it should be fun and unique. Fashions come and go, but style is eternal!

How did you adapt to life in the US after moving here from England, and how do you think the styles of the two countries differ?
I actually think there are a lot of similarities between London and New York style. They’re both always unique, and individuals are prepared to take risks. I think the British High Street style is amazing! Stores like TopShop, Miss Selfridge, French Connection, and River Island all take looks hot off the runway and transform them into wearable, affordable creations. I love the vintage stores in LA and the flea markets. Quite often I’ll find a hidden treasure that just needs a little TLC (a hem here, lose the straps there) and then its perfect for the show!

Where are your favorite spots to shop across the pond?
All the  High Street stores I mentioned above but if I fancy a little luxury I go to British designers such as Matthew Williamson, Burberry, Stella McCartney, Julien McDonald, Alice Temperly and Mulberry.

What’s in your makeup bag?
Clinique superbalm lip gloss. Eyelash curlers. Bobbi Brown shimmer brick. Laura Mercier concealer. Bad Gal eye pencil. Touche Eclat. Chanel lipstick in Paris.

What’s on your summer playlist?

Currently, I’m absolutely obsessed with the Black Keys – brilliantly dirty rock and roll!

Favorite place to eat in Los Angeles?
Soho House. Delicious food, scrumptious cocktails and views to die for!

How do you sparkle?
With a glass of champagne! There’s happiness in every bubble!

Well considering SYTYCD is one of the few shows I watch on TV, I was super excited to see her feature here today!

She is such a classy lady, and so much fun to watch! Her style is such a great reflection of her character which is hard to achieve!

She is my favorite! I’m always amazed that she doesn’t have a stylist but clearly has so much style – which makes is even more fun because you know it is HER personality coming through. There have been many times watching the show that I think “I can’t believe she’s wearing that!” out of pure glee! So fresh!

What a great interview! I’m so impressed that Cat dresses herself on the show – I thought for sure she had a stylist! Just goes to show that her style is impeccable. It’s hard not to like Cat with her warm personality!!

So amazing and congrats on getting this fab feature! Loved it and it really is quite incredible that she doesn’t have a stylist.

I saw her at London Heathrow once. At first I thought that girl has such great style; then I realized who it was!
