Samantha Hutchinson — the gorgeous redhead behind lifestyle blog: Could I Have That? — chronicles everything she covets! Samantha’s stunning photography, carefully-curated collages, and innate sense of style leave her readers inspired and longing for everything she features. We weren’t surprised that her beautiful Santa Barbara home is just as inspiring as her blog!

“My favorite spot to catch up on work and have my morning coffee.”
When / why did you decide to start your blog, Could I Have That? What was the inspiration behind it?
It started as a joke between my sister and I. Every time we saw something that we loved and wanted we’d say (in a high and innocent voice), “could I have that?” So one day in July of 2009, I decided I needed to share all the things that I was currently craving, loving, and enjoying–from beauty and fashion to travel and lifestyle.

“A petite glass cupcake platter with French macarons and two of my favorite cookbooks displayed in the kitchen.”
Have you always been interested in fashion? How has your personal style evolved or changed over the years?
For as long as I can remember I’ve always been particular about what I wear and how I feel in it. Having a style blog has forced me to try new things and get creative with my wardrobe. I find myself embracing bright colors and more prints, something I strayed away from in the past.

“I love this room because it has a lightness to it. It’s a place where you can curl up with a book and take an afternoon nap. I love this antique glass top coffee table paired the Ikea Flokati rug and shag pillows from Maison K.”
“In my Mother Denim jeans, Opening Ceremony x Pendleton cropped jacket, Theyskens’ Theory blouse, Ariel Gordon Rings, vintage chain bracelet and Jennifer Fisher Bone Cuff. This is one of my favorite spots in the house to kick up my feet.”
What are your top shopping destinations for both clothing and home décor?
Santa Barbara is full of boutiques and antique shops. I especially love shopping at a store call dressed, because it has the best assortment of high and low priced pieces — everything from Givenchy to TOMS shoes! For home finds, I absolutely love stopping by Maison K and Upstairs at Pierre Lafond.

I first saw Samantha’s home on Apartment Therapy with her roommate, and fell in love with the space! I have a dear friend with similar taste, so it was neat to see another source of beach cottage inspiration. Thanks for these great photos!
