The minute we laid eyes on this Stella McCartney Spring 2012 bow embellished dress we were delighted with it’s cheeky design. Unfortunately we had to come to grips with the fact that this dress is majorly out of our price range. That is until our editor Alicia (a DIY mastermind) created an easy do-it-yourself version that we actually can afford and can’t wait to wear!
Alicia used a cream colored blouse from Zara that had a similar shape as the Stella McCartney dress (but any white blouse or dress will work). She also recommends a thicker and preferably velvet ribbon for the bows if you can find it.
Materials:
-Ribbon
-Needle
-Thread
-Scissors
-Blouse
Cut ribbon into 6 inch pieces and knot bows (for an easy bow tutorial click here). Make sure to trim the ends of the bows at a diagonal for a refined and pretty finish.
Sew the bows on the blouse (no rhyme or reason necessary) and don’t forget the sleeves and back!
