“I’m so far behind on my magazines, so I stack them on this vintage chair we redid to remind me that I still need to read last month’s issues. My husband got me this gorgeous Balenciaga handbag for my birthday a few years back. I love green; it’s such a happy color.”
“This is my office. I love everything about it and smile every day when I work here. The coffee table is a vintage find from L.A. The bright pink sideboard I found at the Goodwill store. I had it lacquered and purchased new hardware to give it that pop of glamour. The sketches on the back wall are Givenchy originals that my husband surprised me with, complete with the fabric swatches. I am a lucky girl!!”
“These glittery Red Soles were a gift from my darling husband. I loved them so much I wanted to see them everyday when I worked, so I choose to display them in my office. They sit on a pile of my some of my favorite fashion books.”
“This is the clothes rack in my office that is always full! The floor mirror is from Horchow, and I was so excited when it arrived. My daughter will stand in front of it for hours trying on my shoes and clothes.”
How does being a wardrobe stylist affect the way you decorate your home?
Being a stylist, I am very familiar with colors and fabric. When I style my clients, it’s so important for me to make sure that I elevate their style but never take away from their personality. I decorated my house the same way so that it feels inviting but at the same time very unique. Each room has its own personality, and they all play off of each other.
“These are some of the overflow of shoes that don’t fit into the shoe cabinet that my husband had built for me. It’s a small sampling of my shoes but there’s everything from Christian Louboutin, Miu Miu, Coco & Penelope (love their oxfords), ShoeMint….”
“I love sitting in my office and catching up on my magazines. This was the first couch I ever purchased and it’s ridiculously comfortable. I’ve had it forever and my husband won’t let me get rid of it. It had a sage green slipcover which I removed. I, along with my decorator Benny Agulair, chose a thin corduroy that we used to make new cushion covers. When we were at the store, I feel in love with the silk pink stipe and had that pillow made.”
Shoes or handbags?
I’m all about my shoes, especially my Red Soles!
Your shoe collection is amazing! When was the first time you purchased a designer shoe?
My first pair of designer shoes were Prada. I was just out of college working at my first job. When I saw them, I knew they had to come home with me. I still love them like I did that day in the store. Sometimes when I look at my shoe collection, I have that Carrie Bradshaw moment when she realizes how much she has invested in her closet. But I love my shoes. . . each pair has a story. Where I bought them, memories I have wearing them — they’re like my adult-life timeline. My daughter will have the best vintage closet one day, so it’s worth the investment.
“I adore this LOVE print from Made by Girl. I have the same print that sits on identical dressers in our bedroom for him & her. The mirrored tray I found at a local vintage store. Balenciaga and Kilian (Don’t be Shy) are my two favorite scents right now. I have a whole tray of others, but these are my daily go-tos. I bought these Ikat bowls from Anthropologie in every color!”
Have you ever found any gems in unlikely places?
We have a lot of pieces that are gems in our house. My husband used to go to tag sales with his father when he was younger, and we have special things they would buy and then work on together to restore. Some of my favorite items are the entryway sideboard and the chest in my office. I found both of them at the Goodwill Store, then had them lacquered in fun colors and added new hardware. They each were under $125, and they are now statement pieces in our home that people comment on all the time.
“I love our bedroom. It’s so cozy and you just want to relax in it. As you can see, I love pillows — the more, the better, as far as I’m concerned. This is a favorite Etro tunic that will be handed down to my daughter one day…and, of course, my spiky Red Soles!”
How do you add sparkle to your life and to your home?
I bring sparkle to my life by adding those touches of glamour, whether it’s the glamorous wall mirror in my office, a glittery pair of Red Soles for my outfit, fresh-cut flowers, or an amazing dinner with close friends. For me, that sparkle is anything that puts a smile on my face & on the faces of those I love.
