We turned to interior designer Jamie Meares, owner of Furbish Studio, blogger, and all-around amazing lady for a few tips. Jamie’s colorful take on interior design always inspires us. She always seems to have her finger on the pulse of industry trends! We love her eclectic use of pattern. Ms. Meares has a simple rule: look at decorating your couch in the same light as dressing — don’t forget to accessorize!
1. Start with a classic, tailored shape sofa.

2. Add a textile to change the look of your couch. Simply drape your textile over the back of the couch or tuck it in to the cushions. Jamie suggests trying suzanis, rugs, embroidered textiles, quilts, tapestries, throws, scarves, or fabric scraps.
