Interior Style File: Acrylic Coffee Tables

In our eyes, a clear coffee table is an easy answer to a simple and chic living room. Once only accessible to designers and those willing to pay a pretty penny, this style has become wildly popular and is now available at mass retailers for an affordable price. Not only does a clear coffee table look awesome, but it also creates the illusion of a larger space–perfect for smaller apartments or homes! This timeless piece can easily work with any paint color, couch, or short-lived trend you fall for. Add stacks of coffee table books for an eclectic look, or keep it sleek and minimal with a simple tray and vase of flowers. We love this coffee table from CB2, dream about owning this simple option, and simply adore this geometric style.

  • I don’t normally like “clear” coffee tables because we had a glass topped one and it was SO HARD to keep clean. But these are so cool that you just might make me change my mind.

  • Beautiful!! Love how it is there yet is clear and still has the impression that the room is big and not cluttered with furniture.

  • I love acrylics in furniture, but think they might be a big pain to keep clean (because I had bad experience with glass styles). I do think the very last picture to the right has an interesting option with that box style!

  • I just love see-through furniture. It’s so chic and fits in almost everywhere…

  • Thanks for a great article. I too think it is a great look, and am now searching for a reasonably priced coffee table in a 32X56 size. Other than Wisteria (would need two) and CB2, could you please share some other sources.  I am finding the ones with prices over $2500.
