“I bought these years and years ago, I was shopping in Bondi and I saw a girl buying these Miu Miu sneakers, she said they were her school shoes, I thought that was so chic: I went straight in bought a pair myself! I must admit that I have a bit of a thing for Miu Miu; I find their shoes (heels and flats) ridiculously comfy.”
Your most prized possession?
My engagement ring (Cartier love band in pink gold), I love it so much and it’s exactly my personality.
You look like you’re a collector. What do you collect?
Ha! Yes I tend to be a bit of a collector, my dad collects stamps and coins so I must get it from him. I go through phases, I did collect domes, then things from nature, books, cow skulls from my uncle’s farm, storage jars (like my empty Diptyques for my makeup) and TOYS!! I love toys. My favorites are my Visionaries 45 fashion toys and my Kidrobot Munnys. I also collect dinosaurs, I hope I have a boy one day to hand them down to!
We love that your style (both personal and home) is very fun and colorful. Can you share some tips?
Buy things that make you happy, I love sitting at my desk looking at all my weird little collections of things, I would recommend having a theme so it doesn’t look like a rainbow, like in my office I mainly use colors that are in the scarf that dominates the wall so it all ties in pretty easily. Color-blocking works as well in the home as it does in fashion, I recently helped my best friend with her new home and she hated her bookshelf, but as soon as we color blocked all her stuff it looked so much neater and thoughtful. I believe the best accessories reflect who you are and don’t have to cost a lot of money — thrift stores are by far my favorite place to hunt and gather. Style things in threes and make sure they cluster in pleasing shapes, pyramids, stars etc.
“My favorite place to be and where I am writing this from right now! The framed Hermes graffiti scarf was a gift from my girlfriends for my engagement. As I spend the most time at this desk, it’s always changing looks to keep my inspired. I am feeling a change in color palette is looming, so watch this space!”
How do you sparkle?
Being in love helps! Also doing things with purpose and not forgetting that this is the one life we have so don’t waste it worrying about other people. I also really value my family and friends – when they feel good I do too. I have been trying to live in the present more, it’s not that easy as I tend to want to plan ahead and have something to get excited about, it can mean that I miss out on the here and now experiences, I would hate to live life with regrets.
