“I shop Wildfox Couture quite often because I love their cheeky/badgirl vibe. The clothes are insanely comfortable, too. I’m wearing my latest Wildfox obsession here, with Dior frames
“This is the little nook I do my freelancing in. I spend late nights here creating things and I love how it’s both intimate & inspiring. I hang inspiration above my desk and swap out pieces monthly. Most often I hang a cool coaster collected from a bar, fortune cookie I liked, or pieces of ephemera I found thrifiting.”
How does being a graphic designer influence your daily life?
The best thing about being a graphic designer is connecting the dots between symbols & ideas. It actually changes the way you look at the world, because you notice those connections everywhere. It’s a great creative exercise because it forces you to be aware and engaged with your environment.
“I’ve always loved the color red, in both art & fashion. Over the years I’ve collected prints that cover almost every wall in my apartment. Many pieces have pops of red which works well with my neutral furniture.” Dress by RACHEL Rachel Roy, Necklace from ASOS.com
“I’m a gold girl. It’s my weakness, I’m drawn to it everywhere! “ BCBG Cardigan, Banana Republic bracelets
You make killer playlists? What artists should we be on the lookout for?
Thank you! I wouldn’t call myself an expert in defining emerging artists, but I suggest opening yourself up to a wide range of genres. Right now I’m loving Seapony, Killer Mike, White Denim, jj, and The Cults. I get most of my new music through blogs like Turntable Kitchen, Pitchfork and all the teenagers who post music on Tumblr.
I will admit to loving a good pop song. If there’s a place for a candy bar once in a while, there’s a place for a sugary pop tune in my life. Ahem, Carely Rae Jepsen & Nicky Minja. Just sayin’!
How do you sparkle?
Through some of the most trying times in my life, I’ve kept a sense of humor. There’s always room for laughter in your life, even when it feels like it’s falling to pieces.
