Summer is our favorite time of year to unabashedly indulge in frozen treats. There’s nothing better than venturing to new ice cream shops while vacationing–or even just taking an evening trip in your own town for a cone! In honor of July being National Ice Cream Month, we did a little research and compiled the best ice cream shops around the country. Mt. Desert Ice Cream (7 Firefly Lane, Bar Harbor, ME) Mt. Desert Ice Cream has been ranked among the top ice cream shops in the US in several publications, including Food & Wine. President Obama may have put this little gem on the national map after his visit, but the vast array of unique flavors is what keeps the lines out the door.

Completely saddened to see Leopold’s (Savannah, GA) didn’t make the line up. It’s well on it’s way to being 100 years old and it’s definitely a landmark not to be rivaled!
