We’ve long been a fan of Chassity Evans and her blog Look Linger Love—she even took us shopping in her hometown of Charleston, SC last summer (check out the post here). When we learned that she was moving into a new house with her growing family we knew we needed a peek into her lofty Southern home before it was all packed up! And we’re so glad she showed us around her charming home. From the interesting art arrangements to the light, airy atmosphere, this house is one we didn’t want to miss out on. Chassity balances motherhood, full-time blogging and her newly launched art shop with a style that is all her own—a style that shows throughout her beautiful home.
How did your interest in design and decor develop?
I think I’ve always had an interest, like when I insisted on sponge painting my bedroom mauve and teal when I was young, ugh. But I think that I got really interested in my early twenties. Discovering design blogs 4 years ago (or so) intensified this interest in a major way.
Has blogging changed the way you look at your home?
Very much so. I’m constantly seeing new ideas and styles. But really what blogging has done for me is to make me see that you can and should bring what you love into your home, wardrobe and life. Let your space represent you and all of your quirks. Don’t you just love when you visit someone’s home and it doesn’t look anything like anyone else’s?
We love your paintings! What inspires your art?
Thank you! Color and unstructured spaces inspire me. I think you should surround yourself with what makes you happy, and color just does that for me.
Who are your favorite interior designers and favorite design blogs?
The very first design blog I read was Pink Wallpaper. Shannon has such great style and introduced me to so many great bloggers. And my friends Angie Hranowsky and Haskell Harris are easily two of my favorite interior designers.
