We can’t get over the bounty of DIY inspiration over on Pinterest, and now is the perfect time to spend our indoor captivity from the cold getting down and dirty with crafting supplies. We’ve collected our four favorite DIYs to try requiring nothing but a few inexpensive supplies and a touch of creativity. If you happen to throw in a little glitter too, you know we won’t be complaining.

Gold urchin sculptures are a stylist-approved way to add a touch of sparkle to a space, but if the real deal is a little out of budget, we say create your own using toothpicks, a Styrofoam ball, and some gold spray paint. Leave it round for a tabletop version, or carefully cut in half for wall-mountable art. (image)

Got the thrifting bug? We know the feeling! If the affordability of second-hand transformations is just too tempting to ignore, try this cottage chic mail center made from a refinished shutter. Check local rehab shops for discarded shutters, sand the surface down to get rid of impurities, and then repaint in your favorite color. Piles of mail never looked so good. (image)

Washi tape has easily taken the crafting world by storm, and we can see why. Anything that adds instant pattern and color is top dog in our book. Try wrapping a few coordinating patterns of tape around clean jars, and you’ll be rewarded with a personality-packed place to rest your makeup brushes, desktop pens, or a bunch of fresh flowers.
