With much of the East Coast experiencing stormy weather today we thought you might appreciate a few cozy ideas if you’re stuck inside! Stay safe and dry!

  • Get comfy! Cozy up in your favorite lounge wear. We love our Saturday Pants from J.Crew! Have to venture out? Check out our rainy day outfit ideas here.

  • Bake chocolate chip cookies. This recipe is ranked best by The New York Times, but prep ahead–the dough has to chill for 18 hours! (image)

  • Try a DIY! Check out a roundup of our favorite projects here.

  • Curl up with a pile of magazines, good book or laptop and drink a hot cup of tea- bonus if you sip it out of a cute mug like this one from Anthropologie!

  • Spend some time trying new beauty looks! Search the web (if you have Internet service) or magazines for how-to tutorials. Nervous about eye shadow? Try to master a smoky eye. Never braved false lashes? Give them a whirl! Figure out your contour lines with bronzer and blush. (image)

  • Catch up on your snail mail. Nothing beats a hand written note. Take the time to send a long distance friend or relative a sweet letter! Kate Spade Notecards, ($26).

  • Bust out the playing cards for a fun game of “Go Fish” or “Crazy Eights.” (image)

  • Practice our tips for styling a sofa.

Great post to provide some happiness for all those dealing with Sandy and the aftermath! Looking forward to a rainy fall day in CA, so that I can enjoy some of these things! Thoughts and prayers are going out to all affected by Sandy!
