Hi Glitter Girls! Taylor Sterling here! We don’t typically feature wedding stories on Glitter Guide, but how could I resist sharing my own very special day with all of you?! My wedding was featured yesterday on the fabulous 100 Layer Cake (thank you for all your sweet tweets!). I’ve always loved 100 Layer Cake; it’s a great online resource for everything you need to plan your wedding! I know when I was in the planning stages, I wanted to see as many beautiful photos of weddings as possible—and I always wanted to see more of each one! So, I decided I would just put it all out there and show you tons of photos from my day.
In the early stages of planning, I knew right away I wanted to stick to a color scheme of soft pink, white, and gold. I eventually added peach to the list. These colors have always resonated with me, and I was convinced that I would still appreciate them when I look back at my wedding years from now. I also knew I wanted to incorporate pops of sparkle without it becoming too cheesy. My husband and I both knew we wanted an outdoor ceremony and reception. We also wanted it to be a fun juxtaposition of glamorous and laid-back—which we like to think is the kind of lifestyle we lead! (For example, we served a messy BBQ dinner on fancy gold-rimmed plates.)
One thing I struggled with during the planning phase was keeping to one idea. I would constantly see ideas and want to find a way to incorporate every single one. I also struggled when it came to doing things I’d seen and loved, as I also wanted to be original! Luckily, I decided to work with Jacin Fitzgerald of lovely little details. It was truly one of the best decisions I made. I thought I had the time and skills to pull this off myself, but I had too much going on and not enough knowledge to achieve what I wanted. Jacin immediately understood my vision—she helped keep my ideas on track and came up with amazing new ones!. She also gave me excellent advice. She told my husband and me to do whatever makes us happy, and not to worry about the rest. We followed this advice and couldn’t have been happier with how the day turned out!
Our wedding day was seriously the best day of our lives! We were both beaming the entire day. I married my best friend in front of all the people we love the most!

“I wanted a dress that felt light, romantic, and ethereal. Originally I wanted a dress with a 3/4 lace sleeve, but when I couldn’t find one in my budget (and I realized it would make me too warm), I opted for a sweetheart strapless lace dress. This dress actually came with straps that I had removed.”
