Our inspiration for starting Glitter Guide was to encourage you to live your passion, discover the secrets to a healthy lifestyle, and develop your own sense of style. We’re always working to inspire you with chic, fun, and glittery ideas. We share stories of women entrepreneurs, give you peeks into fabulous closets and home tours, and find new, creative ideas for entertaining. We thought it would be fun to feature a play on our 5 Things To Try This Weekend with 5 Ways To Sparkle! In this feature, we’ll highlight real women, along with five things that inspire them and make them shine from the inside out.
We’re thrilled to share how Dallas Shaw sparkles! Dallas is a very successful illustrator and style consultant. Her lists of clients is impressive, with recent works for Chanel, Donna Karen, DKNY, and Kate Spade.
For the first time, Dallas is giving away one of her original works! This sparkly piece will be custom framed. To win, follow Dallas (@dallasshaw01) and Glitter Guide (@glitterguide) on Twitter. Then tweet us one way that you sparkle and use the hashtag #glittergirl
We will pick a favorite one week from today!

Add some glam to your walls!
“Your home should reflect your personal style. In this case literally. I always add groups of mirrors to my space to open up a room and also to create some really beautiful lighting.”
Take an hour for yourself.
“Someone once told me that you should take an hour just for yourself every day. Each morning I take some time alone to enjoy a coffee and check out some visual inspiration on Pinterest.”
Clear your mind.
“If you are an entrepreneur like me, you know that running a creative business is a non-stop job. I tote along a book with me everywhere I go so that I can keep my mind off of work on trains, planes and before meetings.”
Mix up your wardrobe.
“Show your style by mixing it up a little. Wear high-end with low-end, mix your feminine pieces with masculine staples, and mix in holiday wear with cozy casual pieces.”
Create something beautiful.
“Sit down and make something! Paint, write, craft. Make something for your walls, for your friends, or for yourself.”
