What was the inspiration behind your blog Glitter and Gold? I started my blog almost two years ago as a creative outlet. I needed a space to speak my mind and share a little bit of my life, trends, and style. I’m so happy that I made the choice to start Glitter & Gold. It’s something that I truly love doing.
“When I found these gold glitter pants at H&M, I knew they had to be mine. They are so comfortable and can transition easily from day to night. Here I paired them with a Gap dolman sleeve sweater, an H&M gold spike necklace, and Jimmy Choo heels.”
-
“Our couch was such a great find. We knew as soon as we saw it that it would be perfect for us! We love it because it looks like it’s straight off the set of ‘Mad Men.’”
-
How would you describe your personal and home décor style? Do you think they reveal part of your personality?
Classic with an edge. Blacks, whites, and grays with pops of glitter and gold. It absolutely reveals a part of my personality. I hope that when people see my clothes they get an idea of who I am as a person—that’s something that is very important to me.
“Target is my destination for home décor. This mercury glass vase and Jonathan Adler tray are some of my absolute favorites.”
-
What inspires you on a daily basis?
Working in fashion fosters my creativity and allows me to get inspired every single day. That inspiration always moves me to write a blog post or style my home or myself in a different way.
“When my fiancé and I first started dating, he surprised me with a present one day before work. In the card it said, “every girl deserves a pair of…”—and when I opened the box, they were Jimmy Choos. He is the absolute greatest.”

Are you an online shopper or do you prefer shopping in person? Who are your favorite designers?
I’m a firm believer that touching and feeling fabrics or leathers before making a purchase is extremely important. I’m also the kind of person that styles myself in a dressing room, and you just can’t do that online (although, I do have a soft spot for The Outnet!). Some of my favorites are Alexander McQueen, Halston, Reed Krakoff, and Temperely London.
“An Old Navy clearance find; I can’t believe how many times I’ve worn this maxi skirt. I paired it here with an American Apparel v-neck jersey tee, a faux leather jacket, and Corso Como wedges.”
-
What fall trends are you currently coveting?
I’m loving hidden wedges, beanies, and oxblood lips for fall.
“This ampersand has been quite the conversation piece since we purchased it. Everyone who comes into our apartment falls in love, and I’m so happy we found the perfect corner for it! To add a more masculine element, I framed two vintage Navy Football tickets from the ’40s and ’50s.”
-
Where can you usually be found on a Saturday afternoon?
Blogging! I write Glitter & Gold on the weekends, and I love sitting on the pier working on posts.
-
“When I got engaged in July, I immediately transitioned this cork board from fashion to weddings. I love to switch it up and try different colors together all in one place. My whole desk is grounded in gold, so my skull, washi tape, and Russell & Hazel planner match the cork board–and, of course, my wedding plans.”
-
What are your favorite fashion pieces in your closet?
My favorites change pretty often, but right now they would have to be my Rachel Zoe sequined blazer, Helmut Lang waxed skinny jeans, gold Coach Haydee loafers, and my Reed Krakoff Boxer.

Can you share with us your favorite neighborhood spots?
Hoboken has some great shopping, and it’s become one of my favorite things about living here. I just recently discovered a boutique called Platform. It’s dangerously close to my apartment and has an amazing assortment from brands like Vince, DVF, House of Harlow, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and DL1961. As for food, Sweet is an adorable bakery that has some of the best cupcakes I’ve ever tasted, rivaling my all-time favorite DC Cupcakes. And I can’t forget Vito’s Deli, the ultimate destination for real-deal mozzarella cheese and my fiancé’s favorite sandwich, the Soprano.

Do you have a favorite room in your place? Why?
We just recently moved into this apartment, and we spend the most time in the living room. I was able to find a lot of pieces that my fiancé and I both fell in love with. It’s simple and classic, but also very indicative of our personalities. The ampersand and the striped rug are my absolute favorites (and both from Marshalls!).
“Andrew is a Marine and a veteran, and when I saw this sign I knew I couldn’t pass it up. It’s a reminder to me every morning when I’m getting ready just how much he has done not only for me but also for our country—and a reminder of who is boss!”
-
“These frames are my all-time favorite DIY. I made them using plain wooden frames, gold hooks, and a spool of wire. The vintage Peter Pan collar in the center is one of my favorite pieces. It’s covered in pearls!”
-
What advice would you give to someone seeking to develop her own sense of style?
You don’t have to have one particular style. Blend preppy with classic with edgy with gothic and have it reflect your personality. I’m always mixing pieces from designers that don’t necessarily “go” together, but I feel comfortable and like I’m truly presenting “me” to the world. In the end, that’s what’s most important.
“I almost fainted when I saw these gold Coach loafers for the first time. It’s like they were made for me!”
-
How do you sparkle?
By surrounding myself with people who support and encourage me no matter what. Adding a healthy dose of glitter to my wardrobe doesn’t hurt, either!
“Sam Edelman jacket, H&M blouse, Helmut Lang waxed jeans, Coach Men’s weekender bag, and Aldo hidden wedges.”
