Recipe File: Honeycrisp & Gorgonzola Crostini

Oh the holidays, they are so here! And if you’re as busy as we are, we know the thought of entertaining and throwing a full-blown party can seem a bit overwhelming. That’s why we’ve put together this simple appetizer that takes hardly any prep time but still creates a stunning presentation and delicious bite that’s perfect for ringing in the season. We recommend putting a platter out with a few sample bites and then letting guests build their own, and pairing the crostini with a bit of bubbly. Oh and the best part- the appetizer can easily accommodate gluten free guests, as the apple and Gorgonzola on it’s own is just as tasty!


Makes roughly 2 dozen crostini.


1 honeycrisp apple, thinly sliced and tossed in ½ tablespoon of lemon juice (this keeps the apple from turning brown)
3 oz gorgonzola cheese*
1 baguette, thinly sliced on an angle
honey and fresh rosemary for serving

*Cambazola and Roquefort would also work well for the cheese pairing.


Take the cheese out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before serving so it comes to room temp.

Preheat your oven to 400°.  Place the sliced bread on a baking sheet. Bake for 5 minutes, then flip bread and bake for an additional two minutes. The exterior of the bread should feel dry and crispy, but still have a little give you press down. Set bread aside.

Using a large tray lay out the cheese, sliced apple, rosemary, and honey. Stack the bread at one end of the tray. Create a few example pieces so guests can see how to assemble the crostini, both with bread and without. Serve immediately.
