Julia Engel’s blog Gal Meets Glam leaves us inspired every time we pay a visit. Julia shares her personal style, which combines a relaxed California cool with a chic city edge—with fun hair and beauty ideas to boot! We love Julia’s blog because her style is attainable and effortless—and her holiday must-haves give a nod to that same aesthetic.

SONG: “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Michael Bublé

COOKIE: Sugar cookies with white chocolate frosting, sprinkled with mashed up candy cane!

DRINK: Cranberry Cosmo

PARTY DRESS: Definitely something with either sparkles, color, or lace.

PARTY SHOES: Something classic to go with everything, like these .

FAVORITE GIFT TO GIVE: I love giving thoughtful, dainty jewelry that can be worn daily. Also, candles—because everyone loves a good candle, right?

LIPSTICK COLOR: NYX lip cream in “Amsterdam” (my favorite bright red color).

HOSTESS TRICK: Make lots of treats :) Everyone will have a great time if they are filled with delicious goodies!

DECOR: I like simple and clean holiday décor. I stick with white, gold, and green. Anthropologie has really great holiday décor that is not cheesy.

MOVIE: Miracle on 34th Street—I would watch it over and over when I was young.

WAY TO SPARKLE: Confetti and glitter. I like to sprinkle a little bit around to add some holiday cheer! (image)
