If there were one word to describe January, we’d say it’s lighter. While the holiday season is probably best described as full—of family, friends, parties, eating and then some — January is more of a quiet, low-key time to ease into the new year, and often a time to let go of the burdens of the past. One of the many ways we lighten our load is by choosing fresher foods to counteract the heavy holiday fare we consumed in November and December.
