We love the idea of getting gussied up and heading to a fancy restaurant for Valentine’s Day — but the idea of cozying up to a romantic meal in the luxury of your own home sounds equally appealing. Our Editorial Director, Caitlin came up with a few ideas to create a romantic tablescape and menu for a simple yet celebratory Valentine’s Day meal.

-
Grab a floor length table cloth or pick up an inexpensive piece of fabric like we did here, to dress up your dining table.
-
Create a table “runner” by cutting a piece of patterned paper — we adore this hand marbled look.
-
Sparkly letters with your names add a cute touch. Spray paint artificial flowers from the dollar store to add a bit of glam to your table.
-
Taking a few minutes to hand write your menu is a personal touch that will make your meal feel extra special. Pick up a white marker at your local craft store and use a piece of pink cardstock.
-
Lots of candle light will help to set the mood, and of course fresh flowers never hurt.

Cut out heart shapes to use on the stems of your wine glasses and on your menus.
