Hip Hostess: A Valentine's Day Picnic

Rather than the traditional dinner out, try hosting a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner at home with an intimate picnic in your living room! Clear out the furniture, lay out a cozy blanket, and light a few candles for ambiance. The only other requirements? Some wine to sip, and someone you love to spend the evening with.

Clockwise from top left:

Draw out the evening by savoring wine and each other’s company. The bottle you choose will depend on your personal preferences and the type of food you eat, but if you need ideas, allow us to recommend Clos Du Bois Chardonnay ($14.99) or Decoy Cabernet ($21.99)!

Fill these oversized wine glasses to the brim with your drink of choice. Cheers! Everyday Wine Glasses ($3.16 each)

Bring the outdoors inside with these adorable twig cheese knives—they’re fitted with stainless steel blades designed for different cheese-tasting tasks. Twig Cheese Knives ($28.99)

A picnic simply isn’t a picnic without a cozy blanket. We love this printed one from West Elm! Window Pane Blanket ($119-$139)

Candles are a must for any romantic evening. We especially love that these make the crackling sound of firewood when lit! Woodwick Candle ($11)

This modern corkscrew ensures easy and ergonomic cork removal so you can start sipping that much sooner! Winged Corkscrew ($11.95)

Every one of these rustic boards is hand-cut, making them a one-of-a-kind picnic essential. Perfect for serving cheeses and hors d’oeuvres, the board even comes with chalk for easy labeling! Brooklyn Slate Cheese Board ($34.95-$44.95)

Such a cute idea, and probably a lot cheaper than a night out!

Glad you like it!! It’s definitely cheaper, and way more romantic than a dinner out :)

I love Vday dinners at home, but this would be my new favorite! It’s a shame that I will have to wait a whole other year to do this for Vday!
