NYFW Fall 2013: Our Favorite Looks

Written by on February 20, 2013 in Fashion, Fashion Week - 2 Comments

Can you believe another New York Fashion Week has come and gone? Braving the not-so-fashion-friendly weather proved quite the adventure for many of us, but no amount of sleet or snow could put even the slightest damper on the creative energy that radiated from the runways. We left feeling particularly inspired by a few recurring themes: most notably, the sophisticated shapes and sleek silhouettes. Ensembles across the board were effortlessly fuss-free and decidedly self-assured—colorfully dashed with bold prints and sheen aplenty. We’ve rounded up fifteen favorite looks that caught our eyes, stole our hearts, and warmed us from the inside out this February.

  • Bold pink and red with shiny trousers and pointy toe flats. (image: NY Mag)

  • Black and white gown with lace details at J. Mendel. (image: NY Mag)

  • Rachel Zoe showed a neutral outfit that epitomizes a fall wardrobe. (image: NY Mag)

  • Milly took inspiration from Mars with this hologram leather ensemble. We’d love to wear the sweater with a pair of jeans for an everyday look! (image: NY Mag)

  • Oscar de la Renta wowed us with this mixed print ensemble. (image: NY Mag)

  • Only Rodarte could make an evening gown in tie-dye print look so effortlessly cool. (image: NY Mag)

  • Marc by Marc Jacobs brought back the ’70s glam with big hair, bold makeup, and retro silhouettes. However, they still felt as though they could be worn in real life (okay—maybe after toning down things just a bit here and there). (image: NY Mag)

  • We’re eager to wear colored leather and over-the-knee boots come fall, thanks to this biker-chic look at 3.1 Phillip Lim. (Image: NY Mag)

  • This Tory Burch look would make us feel like extras in “Downton Abbey” (with a modern twist). (image: NY Mag)

  • We loved the fun, fearless vibe at Diane von Fürstenberg—and are still swooning over these metallic pants. (image: NY Mag)

  • Stunning gowns exuding glitz and glamour were seen at Jenny Packham—a girl can dream, right? (image: NY Mag)

  • Lots of bright color, architectural shapes, and volume at Delpozo’s show. This is definitely a designer to watch. (image: NY Mag)

  • J.Crew never disappoints, but we especially liked the sophistication and complexity of the collection this season. (image: NY Mag)

  • This metallic yellow skirt & top combo was one of our favorites at Kate Spade. (image: NY Mag)

  • Jason Wu gave us a little edge this season but undoubtedly delivered the ladylike looks we can always expect from the talented designer. (image: NY Mag)
