  • I’m having the worst time with self tanners. Maybe it’s because I’m too pale to begin with, but even Jergens still leaves me with an orange tint. They also claim to have fixed the smell, but it still lingers for days! Help!

    • Alyssa– I can totally relate. I am super pale but I swear by St. Tropez. I also liked testing the L’Oreal Sublime glow too. I don’t find Jergens smell to be too overwhelming but maybe that’s just me. Thanks for reading!

  • what i do is i apply jergens self tanner at night, after showering from the gym. i go to sleep and let it ‘soak in’ and then in the morning do another quick rinse to get rid of the smell. works like a charm!

  • I got excited to see there was a list of self tanners on here because I’m always looking for the perfect tanner. But I wish you would add in your point of view in each description. As it stands, all you give us is the official product description. Just feels like an ad.

    • Hi there- don’t worry, this isn’t an ad. I have sampled and tried all of these tanners and would not recommend them otherwise. Thanks for reading!

  • Any suggestions for people that sadly allergic to DHA? Recommendations for body bronzers perhaps?

  • I stopped using self tanners in high school because of the smell Jergens gave off, but I’m willing to try them again! The bareMinerals face tanner looks great!

  • cool post. very informative. I’m going to bookmark your website and keep checking for new data.
