Go Buy Now: Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy

Revlon’s Nail Art Moon Candy nail lacquer is a funky way to experiment with your mani! The double-ended nail polish duo is a two-in-one buy. The crème base color complements a fun and iridescent glittery flake overlay, adding texture to the nails. The shimmering flakes reflect the light and scatter across the nails in an unexpected way – no two nails end up the same. If you aren’t ready to go full on glitzy try adding the flakes to one feature nail – we like the ring finger – or glittering only the tips of the nails. Both are subtle and sophisticated ways to test-drive the 3-D nail art trend.

PRO TIPS FOR APPLICATION:
Using the base color, apply two coats of the polish and allow to fully dry, putting the top glitter coat on before it’s set will cause the base coat to smudge.

  • I have the Revlon “Galactic” Moon Candy & even a professional manicurist had trouble with its application. The magazine ads for Moon Candy are awesome but unfortunately, the reality is not the same. The glitter flakes are really big & some end up “sticking out” from the nail when dry, so they don’t lie flat. The base (1st) coat also isn’t the best. Plus, because of the double-barreled design, it’s hard to apply because the top is so unwieldy.

    • hi medusa – always great to hear practical feedback, thanks! the post mentions that the glitter does add texture to the nail – we like that 3D effect! the base coat depends on the color; because of pigmentation in each hue, some formulas will cover better than others, therefore, you may require two coats for a few colors. x
