Go Buy Now: Our Favorite CC Creams

We’re always excited to try out the latest and greatest beauty innovations, especially those that will get our skin looking its finest. Following the ever-popular BB cream, and preceding the up and coming, DD cream, CC Creams are the next generation in alphabet beauty.

Originating in Korea, CC Cream, which stands for ‘color correction’, provides a more natural finish combined with SPF protection (Editors Note: SPF in CC Creams should not be depended upon; proper SPF protection must be re-applied throughout the day in order to be effective).

When compared to BB Creams, the differences can be hard to spot; CC Creams are lighter on pigment, but heavier on color correcting actions like spot fading technology. Oftentimes, CC Creams work well for all skin types, even oily, but the light diffusing particles can spotlight texture. We’ve selected an assortment of our favorite CC Creams that will help you see a long term difference in your complexion!

  • Clinique CC Cream ($35): Lightweight, hydrating and packed with  SPF 30 protection, Clinique was first to market with their version of CC Cream.

  • Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream ($42): Peptides can be found in Smashbox’s spot fading formula and an SPF 30 helps avoid new pigmentation issues.

  • Oil of Olay CC Cream ($22.59): Reasonably priced, Olay’s version targets 7 complexion problems and signs of aging with SPF 15 protection.

  • Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream ($48): Packed with natural collagen boosting vitamin C, this formula brightens and tones and boasts SPF 30 protection.

I’m so tempted to try the Olay. I love all of their products and this would be a great substitution for my foundation in the summer!

  • Colleen @ Purple Peony Couture

I absolutely love the smashbox one…it provides a really nice finish… but unfortunately it is making my sensitive skin break out! :( May try the Peter Thomas Roth since I use a lot of their skincare products and don’t have any problems with them.
