  • There’s no better way to beat the heat than jumping in a cool pool. If you don’t have one in your own backyard, you can always tag along to a friend’s house or head to a public pool. You can even call up a local hotel to see if they’ll let you take a dip in their water—most places just charge a small day fee for swimming.

  • Beat the heat with popcorn and a movie in the comfort of your air-conditioned home. Pull the blinds shut, turn off all the lights, pump up that AC and cuddle on the couch under a blanket. Try an interesting homemade popcorn recipe and pair with a movie marathon. Don’t have air conditioning? Hit up your local theater for a double feature!

  • Explore a museum or local art gallery to gather up some inspiration, then head home and get creative! Rearrange your furniture, hang a gallery wall, try painting with water colors or even design your own set of stationery.

  • Hit the road for an impromptu road trip to cooler grounds. Try camping in the mountains, hitting up a quirky beach hotel or renting a cabin in the woods or near a lake.

  • Host a cool-down party for your friends with plenty of homemade popsicles and ice cream.  Try your hand at making some frozen cocktails to add an extra bit of fun!

These are so true! Also I recommend just having a picnic in the backyard.
