We’re super excited to share our founder Taylor Sterling’s baby shower pictures. She and her family are so excited to meet the new bundle of joy! You can see the pictures here and on 100 Layer Cakelet. Here’s her story behind the shower details:
“My family and I have been on cloud nine since finding out my husband and I are pregnant. When we first started brainstorming the baby shower we thought it would be all white, but as time went on I decided I wanted it to be very ethereal, light and a little earthy. Since my wedding was glittery, jazzy and colorful, I figured this was the perfect event to design light and airy. My parents have the most beautiful backyard and it was the perfect backdrop for our theme. I’m really proud of how much we did ourselves, and how many places we found opportunities to cut costs. We did end up getting some rentals, but many of the things we used belonged to us.
I knew right away I wanted a bar at this baby shower. This may be a tad unconventional, but just because I can’t enjoy a great cocktail doesn’t mean everyone else can’t. I may have gone a bit overboard with how many drink selections there were, but I’m not really a minimalist. We had bellinis in bottles, a La Rosesette cocktail, a French Gimlet, white and red wine from One Hope, Sofia champagne, and more. For those who weren’t drinking alcohol, my sister made a delicious pineapple punch. We also didn’t skimp on the dessert table. My sister is the baker in the family and she makes the most delicious desserts for all our parties. She totally out did herself this time and all her desserts were off-the-charts good! My mother-in-law made homemade biscotti in a variety of scrumptious flavors. My mother also went above and beyond for this shower. She made enough pasta for an army, and really helped me style the entire thing. She did a fabulous job on the flowers too. She got all the greens and baby’s breath from Safeway and styled them herself! I truly can’t thank my family and friends enough for all the hard work they put into making this such a special day for me and baby girl (whose name is Elodie). Despite all the beautiful details, what was really amazing was having so much love and excitement at this shower. I felt so incredibly blessed and happy and the entire day felt like a dream. It was absolutely perfect!”

“I love the burlap table runners mixed with the white linens and simple greens. It kind of looked like a mini wedding, which didn’t bother me one bit!”
