Taylor Sterling’s Nursery/Office Makeover

[tps_header]

With about 5 weeks until our founder’s baby girl arrives, we thought it would be fun to share her new nursery/office. We love how it turned out, and we’re so excited to meet little Elodie! We asked her to explain the process and all the pretty details.

“Setting up your child’s nursery is a very fun and exciting step in your pregnancy. This was definitely true for me, but I have to admit it also came with a ton of challenges and stress. My home office is a very tiny space. And because we only have a 2 bedroom home I was faced with the task of creating a nursery that I could also call my office. On top of that, it’s the only room with a real closet and any room for storage. Thus, it’s also our dressing room. I kept brainstorming for months about how I was going to squeeze everything we needed into one small room. Luckily, I was able to team with Hayneedle to find a ton of great items that would make a stylish nursery and also a functional office. I also got to work with my friend and interior decorator, Caitlin Flemming, on making the room look fabulous without feeling overwhelming and cluttered. It turned out to be a lot more nursery than office, but I couldn’t be happier with the overall look and feel of the room. I have to sincerely thank Caitlin, my family and Hayneedle for helping me transform this room. Read on to learn about all the details and to see multiple ways we worked things into the space.”

“It’s a tight squeeze in this room, but it all worked out in the end. I realized during the design process that you have to get over perfection sometimes and learn to adapt. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the filing cabinet being hidden behind the dresser, but it was the only spot it could fit. And now it doesn’t bother me at all.”
