3 Minute Holiday Face

Getting dolled up never gets old in our book, but it can be tiring to come up with new beauty looks for the holiday season. A lot of parties and dinners happen after the work day ends, when the last thing you feel like doing is spending an hour in front of the mirror primping, especially when there is bubbly and conversation waiting for you! So our Editorial Director Caitlin turned to her best friend, Jessica Tennant (a self proclaimed beauty junkie who always looks fab), to share an easy 3 minute holiday face that can be executed quickly in your office bathroom or the luxury of your own. Next week Jessica will be sharing a tutorial on how to get her loose, glam waves, so stay tuned!

  • 1. Start by refreshing your skin (a disposable makeup wipe will do the trick) and applying a moisturizer or primer. Then apply a quick foundation or tinted moisturizer. Jess swears by NYX’s ‘Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation‘ because it’s so fast and easy.

  • 2. Contour your face by defining your cheekbones and jawline with a bronzer 2-3 shades darker than your skintone. Then add in your highlights. This is a great guide to contouring + highlighting.

  • 3. Add a quick dusting of pink blush to the apples of your cheeks.

  • 4. Using a shadow brush, liberally apply your bronzer (yes the same one you used to contour) on the crease of your lid, followed by a swipe of shimmery white (we used Kardashian Beauty Touch Tone in Silhouette) on the middle and corners of your lids. Next, apply a thin layer of liquid black eyeliner on your upper lash line — this new L’Oreal Paris ‘The Blackbuster‘ is a cinch to use, even for beginners. Then curl your lashes and apply 3 coats of mascara.

  • 6. Apply your favorite red lipstick! Jess used Kardashian Beauty En-Joystick Lipstick  in ‘Retro Red‘ (the stick makes it fool proof to apply), followed by a coat of Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss in Hot Fuse.

  • Voila! You’ll be ready for your holiday party in no time at all with a look that is glam without being over the top!

LOVE this look. I’ve got a loaded question though: I’m blessed with not only pale skin, but also thin lips and a teeny mouth. How do I know what red lipstick will make me look like I wasn’t playing around in my mother’s makeup?

looks beautiful! (but can anyone really do all this in 3 minutes!?)

  • Lizz

Great steps and a beautiful look… a tad unrealistic that this can be done in 3 minutes.

She looks awesome, but there is no way I could do that in 3 minutes! More like 30 haha!
