Our Favorite Cold Weather Lip Balms

We bundle up during the cold winter months, but protecting our lips is a whole ‘nother story. From bargain balms to luxe conditioners, we’ve rounded up eight of our favorite long-wearing winter lip balms we can’t live without.

  • Splurge on this Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment ($23) for intense hydration, a sugary scent and a formula packed with black currant seed oil and Meadowfoam.

  • We’re huge fans of this drugstore favorite, Burt’s Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil ($3.30), which also has a perfect berry tint.

  • If your lips aren’t the only place where you suffer from dry, cracked skin, try Smith’s Rosebud Salve ($6), a multipurpose salve that can be used on lips, cuticles, elbows and anywhere else.

  • Never wake up with dry, chapped lips again! Before you go to bed, cover your lips in Aquaphor Lip Repair ($4.29) and you’ll be set for the whole night.

  • Okay, we’ll admit the price for this Aerin Rose Lip Conditioner ($28) seems a bit steep, but your lips will thank you if you treat them to a nourishing balm that works for every skin tone. Plus, you can use it as a polish to layer over lipstick.

  • Lipstick junkies will love this Laura Mercier Lip Balm ($20), a vitamin-rich and hydrating lip conditioner that can be worn over or under lipstick.

  • If you love red wine, you’ll want to splurge on this Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask ($26). This natural formula smoothes and nourishes with a bio-active blend of organic agave nectar, jojoba oil and triple the amount of antioxidant trans-resveratrol found in red wine (that’s 15 glasses!).

  • If you’ve never liked the consistency of a balm, opt for a gel formula like Perfekt Lip Perfection Gel ($24), a modern alternative (made without parabens and sulfates) to traditional balm, lipstick or gloss.

Neutrogena Naturals lip balm is BY FAR the best lip balm I’ve ever used, it goes on really nicely and I don’t have to reapply as often as I have with Burt’s Bees or regular Chapstick. I buy it on Amazon in bulk since it’s difficult to find in my area. I also use their purifying pore scrub twice a day. Love that stuff…

I tried Perfekt Beatuty Lip Perfection Gel product. It went on very smooth and even. I loved it! I will purchase again.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment and Rosebud Salve are two of my all time favorites! Great picks!
