The Best Do-It-All Balms

The harsh winter months send our skin into survival mode. But even with our bodies working overtime to repair our skin from the freezing temperatures we’re often left feeling chapped and raw. But that’s where our new favorite beauty items, beauty balms, come in. The best thing about beauty balms is their unique ability to do way more than just soothe our distressed skin (although they do that quite spectacularly). These balms do everything from taming flyaways to highlighting cheekbones. Read on to learn about all of the ah-mazing benefits beauty balms have to offer and which ones we can’t put down.

  • One Love Organics Waterless Beauty Balm ($68): This all-natural balm is utterly luxurious. It smells like pure mango and is made with all plant-based ingredients that break down makeup instantly without stripping the skin. Use this lovely balm to tame frizzies, heal dry patches or give your cheeks an extra glow.

  • Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream ($19.50): This amazing skin protectant is a cult favorite among celebrities and makeup artists around the world. If you haven’t tried it by now, go out and buy yourself a tube asap. It not only soothes and protects raw skin, but gives eyes a gorgeous glossy affect when applied to the lids. Use alone or under shadow for a stunning statement look.

  • Egyptian Magic ($38): This heavenly balm is ultra healing so if you suffer from any type of skin condition, this will be your knight in shining armor. It contains all-natural ingredients like olive oil, royal jelly and bees wax. Use this anywhere on your body that needs some serious soothing, even your face. It won’t clog pores, we promise!

  • Josie Maran Argan Balm ($42): If you’re a fan of Josie Maran’s beloved 100% Argan Oil, then you’re going to swoon over this gorgeous multitasking balm. It’s infused with argan oil (of course), and free of fragrances, petroleum, and other nasty chemicals. Try using this balm to keep cuticles in check and brows in place!

  • Indie Lee Hydrating Body Balm ($32): This divine balm is the ultimate when it comes to sealing in moisture. Made with skin-loving jojoba and avocado oils, this all-natural balm will banish your dry-skin-sorrows. Got dry hair too? Run a small amount through dry ends for immediate shine.

If you’re looking for a balm, I’d totally encourage you check out Waxelene. It’s billed as an organic petroleum alternative, but it has a balm consistency. It’s made from only four ingredients, including beeswax. It’s amazing, I have not found anything better for dried heels. I get some eczema in the winter and it’s great for that too. You can find it at most CVS stores some Whole Foods and online. It’s way less expensive than the balms in the slideshow.

I have oily, acne prone skin and am 36. I started using Egyptian Magic on my face just before Christmas and my skin has never looked better! I was always scared of oil on my face and spent years stripping it off with wipes and toners. No more. I will never buy anything else!

“gives eyes a gorgeous glossy affect”.
Poor English language… and you call yourselves “editors”. Spell check comes in handy when one cannot spell. Shame.
