Our Favorite All-Natural Cleaners

Although many of us are still grumbling through cold or snowy commutes, there’s no avoiding the recent change in season — especially when it comes to those dusty, dirty corners at home! Spring cleaning is at the top of our to-do list, and we’ve deemed 2014 the year to finally replace those harsh chemical cleaners with all-natural options. Here’s hoping these five favorite DIY cleaners will motivate you to get your place in tip-top shape!

  • Vodka is the secret ingredient for this cleverly named fabric refresher, aptly dubbed “Febooze.” It’s perfect for homes with pets and kids — and it’s made using pantry essentials we all likely have on hand!

  • If concocting a DIY cleaner from scratch isn’t your cup of tea, Etsy sellers offer an endless array of ready-made options — like this Sweet Orange Zest & Cardamom Castile Soap. We’re suckers for the pretty packaging, too!

  • Make your windows “shine like diamonds” with this all-natural solution made from lemons, cornstarch, vinegar and water. Simply apply with a crumpled newspaper.

  • This do-it-yourself dish soap (made from just three ingredients!) is especially easy on the skin.

  • Adding therapeutic essential oils like lavender to your new natural solutions is bound to take the stressful edge off of cleaning!
