spring hostess tips
To get some serious spring-spiration, we caught up with NYC-based event planner Natalie Trento. She gave us her five tips on how to throw the perfect spring party! We just adore her bright, colorful aesthetic — and we can’t wait to put her advice into action!

  • 1. Decide on a color scheme and stick to it. This will ensure that your overall design is cohesive.

  • 2. A great way to brighten up any space is with fresh flowers. There are times when I like to create a really uniform look, using only a couple different varieties of flowers in a single shade. For a more vibrant aesthetic, I like to mix things up and feature different flowers in various — but complementary! — colors.

  • 3. A cute, inexpensive way to make your guests feel super special? Hand out yummy favors in brightly printed paper bags. Baked goods or chocolates are always well-received!

  • 4. Use white dishes so that the design elements and overall color scheme can take center stage. If your plates do have a bit of a pattern, just make sure it doesn’t detract from your desired aesthetic!

  • 5. A fun way to dress up water or cocktails is with slices of fresh fruit. Lemons and limes are always a big hit, but I also like to use blackberries or slices of watermelon during the summer months.

I love her navy and coral dress in the picture, where is it from?

    • Natalie Trento

      Hi Chelsea,

The dress is by Shoshanna. I believe it is described as the Coral Colorblocked Full Skirt Ponte Dress.

      Best,
      Natalie

Hi Karen – The dishes are actually from HomeGoods (go figure!) and the tablecloth and matching napkins are by Cynthia Rowley.
