What is your holy grail skincare product?
That is such a tough question! In terms of a product I can’t possibly run out of, it would be my Restorsea eye cream. I’m obsessed, and also convinced that it’s working some serious magic on the skin around my eyes.
What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to makeup?
Lip gloss. I have an embarrassingly large collection that I hide in the back of my beauty closet because it’s so ridiculous.
How would you describe your beauty look?
I’m definitely a classic beauty girl, for sure. I love to try new trends off the runway, but when it comes down to it, classic always wins. You can’t beat a pretty smoky eye, light foundation, lip gloss and some red nail polish.
Do you have any new makeup finds that you’ve been loving as of late?
Right now I’m loving CoverGirl’s TruMagic Skin Perfector. It’s basically a balm that mattifies your skin without powder (which I usually hate using!). I use it as a primer under foundation, but you can also apply it OVER your makeup to help control shine. It’s awesome, and also the first of its kind in the mass market.
If you could only use ONE makeup product, what would it be and why?
A light foundation with SPF. I love Clinique Even Better Makeup SPF 15 because it definitely gives me coverage, but I don’t look like I’m about to enter a beauty pageant after putting it on (the worst!). I have a little redness in my cheeks (from Rosacea), so I make foundation with SPF a priority.
Do you have any beauty tips/tricks to share?
I live by the two “S’s” — Sleep and SPF. If you’re not getting enough sleep, there’s only so much makeup you can cake on to hide that. And, of course, SPF is a must. It’s the BEST thing you can do to keep your skin looking young. And it prevents skin cancer, which is one of the most dangerous forms of cancer but also the most preventable.
What is your go-to ‘going out’ look?
My ‘going out’ makeup is not-so-surprisingly a lot like my daytime look, ha! I usually add a smokier eye (which dresses it up a bit), light foundation, eye shadow (for the smoky eye), eyeliner, mascara, lip gloss…and maybe some bronzer for good measure.
Is there someone’s beauty style that you really admire?
Lauren Conrad’s makeup is always flawless. Of course, my friend Amy Nadine is her makeup artist — but I’m not biased, because Lauren looks amazing on Amy’s days off, too!
