This past February, the fabulous and talented ladies of Firefly Events celebrated their five-year anniversary with a gorgeous celebration dinner in New York City. Firefly’s founder Teissia Treynet filled us in on all the fun and beauty behind their big night!
“As a small business owner, I am beyond thankful for all of the people who have supported me and my company along the way. As many of you reading this can attest to, building a business from the ground up is not easy. It takes an immense amount of time and energy, countless sleepless nights, unending dedication and commitment — and it’s nearly impossible to do alone. So when Firefly turned five this past February, I wanted to formally thank everyone who has helped in the creation and growth of this amazing company!”
What are some of the challenges you’ve overcome in five years of business?
Streamlining the business was a big one; this is still something that continues to evolve every day. Figuring out “our way” of doing things — as well as what organizational tools were needed to create a seamless and efficient planning process — took some trial and error, but it has been instrumental in the success of Firefly. Bringing on employees was also an experience that came with growing pains. Learning how to delegate and communicate the intricacies of daily to-do lists takes a lot of time and energy, but is such an important step in the growth of any business. Another big challenge was relocating the business to New York. I initially started Firefly in Los Angeles in 2009 and relocated to New York in 2011. At first I was really intimidated by the move, but at the end of the day, I found that being confident in the services we offer and staying true to the vision of Firefly was really the key to a smooth transition.
