How To Host A Rosé + Flower Arranging Party

Yesterday over on Style Me Pretty, our editorial director Caitlin shared a rosé tasting + flower arranging party, which she collaborated on with her wedding florist and photographer. One of the hardest tasks on her wedding-planning journey thus far (besides the guest list!) has been making choices about flowers. To make things a little easier, she invited her florist Holly Chapple to come into the office she shares with Meg Biram to chat all things flowers — all while sipping some rosé and snacking on a delicious cheese plate! Wishing you could join the floral and gourmet fun? Read on for tips on how to host your own wine tasting + flower arranging party for a wedding shower or girls’ day this summer!

  • Start with the flowers! Hire a local florist to come and teach your friends about flower arranging — or, do your own research and pick up blooms at a local flower market, farmers’ market or florist.

  • Set a supply basket at each seat and add a few fresh flowers along with a coaster and tasting notes for the wine! Don’t forget to include shears, floral tape and wire.

  • Set up a serve-yourself bar with a variety of rosé wines including bubbly, dry and sweet. Place cards make it easy for your guests to see what exactly they’re trying!

  • Put together an easy cheese platter for your girls — a few cheeses, salami, almonds, dark chocolates and breadsticks are really all you need. Offer a gourmet honey (Caitlin used Orange Blossom) and herbs to garnish, and you’re all set!

  • Encourage guests to write down tasting notes while they try each wine. It makes for the perfect activity while learning about flowers from your florist.

  • A handwritten invite, which you can then copy to print multiples, is a pretty way to invite your guests.

  • Have fun with your flowers — try out a variety of arrangements!!

  • Get the recipe for this yummy Roasted Grape Crostini over on Caitlin’s blog!
