Our Favorite TV Shows To Binge-Watch This Summer

It’s always wonderful to spend time outside enjoying the beautiful summer weather — but sometimes it’s equally as nice to escape the heat and curl up on the couch watching TV! And since most shows are on hiatus during the summer months, there’s no better time to get sucked into a new show! Us ladies here at Glitter Guide are sharing our favorite binge-worthy shows. We’re warning you: you might not be able to stop!

  • Friends

“I lived abroad during my teenage years and didn’t have access to any English TV, but luckily, our British neighbors had all the seasons of Friends on VHS! My mom would allow me to watch a couple episodes a night before bed, and it always reminded me of home! To this day it’s a comforting show that never fails to cheer me up and make me laugh — even though I can quote every line!”

  • Friday Night Lights

“This show is not just for boys! It’s a truly addicting all-American drama!”

  • The Mindy Project

“I couldn’t be more obsessed with Mindy Kaling and her witty show. Full of great one-liners and smart writing, you’ll fly through the series way before summer is over.

  • Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls is my go-to — thank goodness for its weekday reruns on ABC Family! I’m such a sucker for the sharp, witty writing and slightly off-kilter humor.”

  • Community

“This is hands down the funniest show ever. It holds a permanent place at the top of my list of favorite shows. Its quirky, wild and still totally relatable characters and story lines make something as mundane as air conditioning repair epically hysterical. I love a self-aware show that knows its audience and is able to wink at itself. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve re-watched this one. It’s silly enough to cheer me up no matter what. #SixSeasonsAndAMovie forever.”

  • The Real Housewives Franchise

“I’d have to say any Real Housewives franchise. A guilty pleasure, yes — but oh-so-addictive, and a perfect escape from reality!”

    — Erin Gerlach, Editorial Beauty Director

What fun this is! I love the ideas and the chance to get to know the Glitter Guide team a little bit better. I love to see you do this again some day.

Thank you so much! We’ll definitely be doing more of this :) xx

I finally committed to The Mindy Project and I love it. I probably watch 4 episodes at a time. It’s so witty and funny.

That popcorn! Adding sprinkles makes everything better :) Also, I’m a die-hard friends fan! nothing compares to that classic! <3

FRIENDS is a classic that will never die. I highly recommend Happy Endings which has the most random humor that speaks to my group of friends and me more than anything I’ve seen on TV; you’ll either love it or won’t get it. Also love all the Real Housewives and Gilmore Girls (check out the canceled show Bunheads from ABC Family for that same quick wit).

Here’s a list of canceled shows more than worth your time that are ready to fully stream on Netflix if you can’t get a hold of DVD sets.
