What inspired the design of your son’s nursery?
When we found out that we were having a little boy, I wanted to replicate my hubby’s personal style in the nursery. A blend of seersucker meets mountain man, golfer, beach bum—with a side of total prepster. I wanted to create a space that was light, bright and little boy-ish. I also wanted to create a reflection of “us.” We love the beach, and my hubby bleeds Carolina Blue (go Heels!). As long as I could have elements of the color white, I was in heaven. The design started around the blue-and-white-striped wallpaper, which ties back to my husband’s love for traditional seersucker. My personal style blends vintage and traditional elements with mod patterns. We pulled in items that surround the Carolinas—like the sailboat artwork above the changing table and the animal heads mounted above the crib. It’s definitely our favorite room in our home.
