1 Sweater, 3 Outings: Exploring LA With Grasie Mercedes

[tps_header]

One of our favorite things to do is explore new neighborhoods—and there’s nothing quite like a chic outfit to inspire a fun day or night on the town! As most of the country moves into sweater weather, we asked fashionista Grasie Mercedes to style a cozy sweater coat for three Los Angeles outings. Read on and click through for more about Grasie, her go-to spots and her gorgeous style.

Tell us about your career & blog.
I’m an actress and TV host with a personal style blog. Style Me Grasie is my creative outlet where I post my outfits of the day and the clothing, shoes and accessories after which I’m currently lusting. Because I’m constantly running to auditions, shooting something or studying in an acting class, I can’t be a full-time bloggerbut I love being a full-time “slasher!” Actress/TV Host/Fashion Blogger are three pretty great careers to have, and I’m super fortunate that I can make a living from each of them.

What do you love about living in LA?
Its geographic diversity. There are beautiful beaches, gorgeous mountains and stunning deserts all within an hour (or less) drive of each other. I also love the energy of the city and all the amazingly creative people I meet on a daily basis.

How do you describe your style?
Fun, hip, cool, sometimes edgy, sometimes girly, sometimes boyish. It can be all over the place—but mostly, it’s casual and playful.

Has living in LA affected your style?
Well, the weather definitely affects it, especially lately. It’s been sooo hot. I’m looking forward to cooler temps so I can bust out some knits and jackets. I also tend to wear more color in LA. I’m a born-and-raised New Yorker, and though I’ve always embraced color, I never wore as much in New York as I do now in Los Angeles.

Where are your favorite places to shop in LA?
The Grove is great because it’s one-stop shopping and very pretty—I call it Disneyland for adults. There, I mostly shop at Nordstrom, J.Crew, Topshop and Zara. Away from The Grove, some of my other favorite places to shop are Reformation (I’m obsessed with their dresses!), Crossroads Trading Co., American Rag and sometimes Fred Segal.
