Hip Hostess: Chic Game Night

We certainly look forward to holiday soirées and fancy fêtes each winter, but sometimes we also crave something slightly unexpected! Instead of donning sequins and heels this weekend, throw on a cozy sweater and invite your friends to stay in with you for a fun game night. Just a few simple touches will keep the party feeling chic and festive—perfect for this time of year!

Game night inspiration from lark&linen

1. Guests will be clamoring to play when they see this fabulous deck of IDEA International Gold Playing Cards ($15).
2. We love anything that sparkles, so the hint of rainbow in these Target Acrylic Wine Glasses ($23 for 4) caught our eye. Plus, the fact that they’re acrylic makes them perfect for parties.
3. These simple DIY Scrabble Tile Coasters are a great addition to game night, whether you’re playing Scrabble or not! They’re functional, reusable and totally customizable. Learn how at Simply {Darr}ling.
4–5. Serve up something whimsy! These Anthropologie Crescendo Dot Dessert Forks ($20 for 4) are spunky enough for game night, but neutral enough to work for almost any other party. These disposable Party Pop Hexagon Striped Plates ($8) from Urban Outfitters provide another fun way to spruce up your food presentation.
6–7. Make sure you have plenty of comfy-cozy seating for guests! Extra pillows, some super-soft throws and a gold pouf will do the trick. After the party, tuck the pouf under a coffee table for stress-free storage. (C. Wonder Alpaca Blend Throw, $68 / Gold Ottoman, $160)
8. We can think of a million ways to use this confetti-covered Lara Casey Shop Today is Awesome Notepad ($10). For game night, it’s a fun place to track points and scores.
9. Upgrade any board game with a set of unique and slightly girly dice, like The Great Lakes Lucky Dice Game ($14).
10. Whip up a batch of cupcakes and display them on Award Cupcake Stands ($22) as a sweet way of rewarding winners (and losers!).
