With each new year come goals and resolutions: eat better, exercise more, get organized—the list goes on and on. This year, we’ve been determined to start our workdays in a new way. While there are definite perks to working from home, there are also some drawbacks. Going into 2015, we decided to make some changes—starting right when we get up each morning. We’ve made an effort to get dressed every day (yes, leggings and an oversized sweater count!) and put on a little “face” before sitting down to work. So far, these changes have already increased our motivation and improved our outlook.
The thought of caking on pore-clogging beauty products (when we could easily allow our bare skin to breathe in the comfort of our home all day) was our main deterrent in putting on makeup each weekday morning. Our qualms were promptly put to rest when we found out about bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream. This hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic formula has no silicone, fragrance, oil or parabens! Intrigued? Our social media director Abby has been trying it out for the past week—read on for her thoughts and tips for a five-minutes-or-less face!
“Because I have dry, sensitive skin with a lot of redness, my initial concern was that a tinted gel cream would irritate my skin and not do much—if anything—to even out my skin tone. In truth, I’ve been looking for a happy medium for quite some time—a product that would even out my complexion and make me feel a bit more put-together without smothering my skin. I definitely think I’ve found this in Complexion Rescue.”
“One of the first things I noticed when applying Complexion Rescue was how amazing it felt on my skin! It has a cooling, soothing sensation, which is perfect for both normal and sensitive skin. It also blended flawlessly over my face (it’s very buildable!) and felt incredibly hydrating. If you tend to have more oily skin, fear not—this product has no oil in it, and it dries in a satin finish for a (non-greasy!) glow. Applying Complexion Rescue is a cinch—and you can use your fingers to apply it just as easily as the brush. In only a few days, I’ve noticed that my skin feels smoother and looks more hydrated and healthy.”
“Now that I have my foundation all figured out, I’ve become pretty good at a quick five-minute face! For me, it’s all about creating a little definition while still keeping it natural!”

Step 1: Concealer, Complexion Rescue & Bronzer
“First, apply bareMinerals Complexion Rescue. You can use a brush or clean fingers. Start with a pea-sized amount and add more as needed. I tend to have a lot of redness and usually some under-eye circles, so I then use a little concealer to touch up those problem areas. Since my face is rounder, I define my cheekbones a bit by making a fish face and applying a quick brush of bronzer to them.”
