We’re thrilled to be continuing our fashion week chats with designer Rebecca Taylor! This fashion guru’s blog is pure poetry. Her whimsical descriptions of memories, muses and mood boards render us riveted—as does her advice for surviving New York Fashion Week! Today, Rebecca shares some of her show-hopping must-haves, including her take on this season’s hottest trends.
What helps you survive fashion week?
1. Schnipper’s crispy chicken—perfect for lunch during long days of prep.
2. David Bowie’s music—it keeps the mood light and fun.
3. My team members—I couldn’t do it all without them and their hard work.
4. Candy—sugar helps keep me focused, especially during late nights at the office.
What are you most looking forward to this season?
The amazing faux fur outerwear and the longer lengths we will be showing.
How do you prepare before a collection launches?
A good night’s sleep!
What five beauty products do you count on to save your skin during fashion week?
Diorshow mascara, Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour, Evian Mineral Water Spray, Estée Lauder Take It Away LongWear Makeup Remover Towelettes and tinted moisturizer because it’s a quick and easy way to look refreshed.
How do you celebrate after your show?
Cocktails with my staff and friends.
What’s been the most exciting show of your career, and why?
My first show. It was an exciting time and a big milestone in my life. I remember having the feeling that I had arrived.
