We’re excited to be kicking off a brand-new feature here on Glitter Guide in which we invite inspiring creatives, writers and tastemakers to spill the details on their most memorable “Cocktail Occasions.” These features will tell the stories behind beloved cocktails that spark specific memories and emotions—accompanied by recipes so that you can create similarly special moments of your own! First up, our features editor Carrie is taking the hot seat to share the story and recipe that go along with her favorite cocktail: the Peachy Squeeze.
It all started (as many cocktail memories do) in college. Our go-to local pub featured monthly drink menus that rotated to show off the best of what was housed behind the bar. Not one of the most seasoned—or even particularly tolerant—of my collegiate pals, I often went for drinks that were drowning in alcohol-masking juices (think: screwdrivers or ‘Sex on the Beach’). One such mixed cocktail did the trick particularly well—and eight years later, I haven’t strayed too far from its recipe.
The Peachy Squeeze is a tangy-sweet concoction made up of peach vodka, peach schnapps and pink lemonade. Just catching a whiff of it makes my husband cringe, but the over-the-top flavors of this ultra-girly drink are music to my taste buds.
Although you won’t see me, as in my early 20s, wielding two glasses filled to the brim with the neon pink drink—goofy grin and XS-sized Forever 21 V-neck acting as a backdrop—it’s certainly not unusual for my late 20s-self to pour a Peachy Squeeze from our stocked bar cart on any given Friday night.
And you’d better believe that this pretty pink cocktail poured into a vintage gold-rimmed glass is going to make it onto Instagram.
As you can see, not all that much has changed.
- 1/2 cup peach schnapps
- 1/4 cup peach vodka
- 2 cups pink lemonade
- Squeeze of lemon
Chill ingredients, combine them in a glass and enjoy. Garnish with a lemon slice for a little added flavor and flair!
